WeatherFX is a versatile application that provides valuable insights into work/rest ratios and fluid intake in high-temperature conditions. By utilizing GPS data from iPhone/iPad devices, users can access real-time information on temperature, barometric pressure, and relative humidity. The app further offers approximations for wet bulb and Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) based on the retrieved data. It is important to note that the WBGT values are estimates and may not account for wind or low light conditions. True WBGT readings require specialized instrumentation.

Upon permission to access GPS location, WeatherFX displays Latitude and Longitude coordinates once updated. By clicking the "Update" button, users can view temperature, pressure, and humidity information sourced from the nearest weather station. The app calculates wet bulb and WBGT temperatures based on this data, providing users with location-specific and timely readings.

In addition to GPS data, users can manually input temperature, pressure, and humidity values to obtain corresponding wet bulb and WBGT estimates. The app also allows for the generation of random data sets through a simple shake of the device, offering further insights into temperature-related calculations.

Post-update, WeatherFX facilitates quick conversions between Fahrenheit and Celsius temperatures as well as between inches of mercury and millibars for barometric pressure. The app conveniently presents flag conditions based on WBGT estimates, providing users with work/rest ratios and water consumption guidelines depending on the prevailing condition. These recommendations are sourced from the U.S. Marine Corps Order 6200.1E (June 2002) and serve as a useful reference tool for users engaged in outdoor activities under varying weather conditions.
